After the assault, law enforcement cleared out both the security personnel and bandits’ remains. This heartbreaking occurrence occurred just after stories emerged of robbers obstructing Zamfara’s Gusau-Funtua highway, kidnapping a certain number of commuters.

Spokesperson Yezid Abubakar of the Zamfara State Police Command affirmed the abductions on a highway and informed that police personnel had been sent to the location. However, they were still awaiting more information about how many people have been taken captive.

Banditry remains a persistent challenge to Zamfara State, with repeated assaults directed towards both civilians and security operatives.
