Auto crash in Ekiti results in the death of three churchgoers on Black Sunday

Three people lost their lives in a horrific accident involving a bus owned by St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Ise Ekiti, while other victims suffered varying degrees of injuries.

The bus’s passengers, the majority of whom were women, were travelling to Ado Ekiti on Sunday morning in order to take part in an annual enrollment service when the disaster occurred.

According to reports, the bus’s tyre burst around Afolu after Ise Ekiti, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and cause multiple somersaults.

It was reported that three of the women passed away immediately.

Among the dead were an evangelist who had only recently tied the knot and Hon. Adegbola’s wife, the previous chairman of the Ise/Orun Local Government Area.

The injured were taken to the hospital immediately and are undergoing treatment there.

In response, the Anglican Bishop of Ekiti, Rt. Rev. Andrew Olusola Ajayi, expressed sympathy to the relatives of the deceased and to St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Ise Ekiti. He also prayed to God to heal the wounded.

Ise Local Government Chairman Hon. Bamikole Ayodele expressed his condolences for the deceased in a statement to reporters.
