On Tuesday, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar made a mistake while addressing a gathering for the party in Plateau State.

In Jos, the Plateau’s capital, the rally was staged in the Rwang Pam township stadium.

In Hausa, Atiku concluded his speech by urging people to vote for the PDP this time around “for God’s sake and the value of this place.”

The PDP candidate also assured his followers in Plateau that peace would return to the state if the party won the 2023 elections.

When Nasarawa was completely completed yesterday, I was ordered to return to Abuja, but I refused because this place is also my home and I have a residence here. “We came and camped there,” he claimed.

What I want you to know is that we have promised to restore peace to Plateau if you support the PDP, which I’m confident you will.

“We will bring growth to Plateau, particularly for the young people I see here most frequently.” All of you, both men and women, will make sure to strengthen the plateau state’s economy in order to provide jobs and business possibilities.

We promised you a promise, and this is it. Since the APC administration has been in power for the previous eight years, we are also aware of the poor condition of the majority of your roads. We guarantee to repair the roads.

“Therefore, Plateau people, this location has a history.” We cast our votes for several presidents in this location, including MKO Abiola and Olusegun Obasanjo.

Abubakar went back to the PDP in December 2017. He had joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) before.

A similar thing happened with Bola Tinubu of the APC at the same stadium weeks before the PDP presidential candidate did something wrong.

Tinubu, who is running for president with the APC, told the crowd at the Plateau event, “God bless PD…APC!”

Fascinatingly, Tinubu’s error also took place on a Tuesday.
