On Friday, Nyesom Wike – Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) publicly pledged his allegiance to President Bola Tinubu.
Due to his advanced age, Wike asserts that he is old enough to be Tinubu’s father and therefore trusts in his abilities, leading him to choose loyalty towards him.

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State was accused by the minister of taking advantage of Tinubu’s presidential intervention to insult “everybody.”

Wike stated that Governor Fubara used the presidential intervention to disrespect others. As someone appointed by Mr President, I never made any deals before giving my support. I had faith in his abilities and was always transparent about my plans.
Although there were things that I should not have accepted when the President called, he is our father figure by virtue of age and position as head of state. Besides, his appointment of me made it impossible to decline.
The governor utilized the gratitude expressed, but I cannot be controlled by anyone as my allegiance is to Mr. President.
Although the president initially instructed to perform certain tasks, he later filed more than 40 lawsuits.
Wike and Fubara have been engaged in a heated dispute concerning the political and resource management of Rivers State.
Despite Tinubu’s intervention and the signing of a peace pact by both parties, their face-off has persisted.
