After reportedly killing his older brother, who was accused of practising witchcraft, an Adamawa man has been taken into police custody.

According to reports, Mohammed Clerkson, the man’s older brother, who was 57 years old, was killed by John Clerkson, 42, of Dumna Zarbu in Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The suspect claimed that the deceased was to blame for other local residents’ deaths.

According to information obtained by OBASANJO NEWS24, the incident took place on August 29 when John confronted Mohammed and accused him of possessing the wife of his own son.

According to reports, John, who is presently being held by the Adamawa State Police Command, confronted his older brother for allegedly “catching the spirit” of Robert Mohammed’s wife and causing her to pass out.

When word spread that Mohammed was purportedly the witch terrorising the neighborhood’s population, locals flocked to his home with their ailing relatives, pleading with him to free them from the “spirit of sickness.”

Further information revealed that the suspect John and his older brother Mohammed got into a quarrel when the latter sought an explanation for the supposed witchcraft.

John, who was detained following Mohammed’s death, is allegedly denying any involvement in his brother’s passing, according to the police.
