The governor, Ademola Adeleke, must have formally notified the people of Osun State of his working holiday to Europe and Asia, according to the state government.

It said that this vacation was Governor Adeleke’s first leave of absence since taking office.

The government’s stance follows rumours that, according to sources close to the office of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adeleke on New Media, about a statewide broadcast by the governor scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, November 27, 2023, made the rounds on social media and Whatsapp.

The governor’s special assistant for new media, Olalekan Badmus, signed a statement that Obasanjo News24 was able to receive on Monday. In it, he called the material circulating false and the product of pranksters.

Badmus asked people to disregard the information as untrue and refuted the statement’s release.

Additionally, Badmus disclosed that the governor had instructed Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner of Information and Public Enlightenment, to update the media on Monday, November 27, (today), regarding the administration’s historic one-year accomplishments.

According to the statement, “Governor Adeleke had duly informed the people of Osun of his working vacation to Europe and Asia. This was to be his first vacation since taking office as governor.”

Additionally, he has instructed Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, to brief the media on the administration’s historic one-year accomplishments on Monday, November 27.

In order to preserve state resources and be in step with the difficult times the populace is presently suffering, the governor also put an end to any celebrations marking his one-year anniversary in office.

The All Progressives Congress, or APC, in Osun State allegedly accused Governor Adeleke of lying about his whereabouts in a statement on Sunday, according to a report from Obasanjo News24.

The Osun APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, made a statement on behalf of the party asserting that Governor Adeleke had spent the previous two weeks on vacation in the United States.
