Adeleke associate, Oyeyemi, awaits court decision on bail amidst tight security

A significant number of security personnel were present both at the entrance and surrounding areas of the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun State.

This was in relation to the ongoing trial of Olalekan Oyeyemi, a close associate of Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is facing charges of murder and terrorism.

Security operatives were strategically positioned both inside and outside the court premises to ensure the safety and order during the proceedings.

The accused, Olalekan Oyeyemi, was also present in court as the trial unfolded.

Olalekan Oyeyemi was arraigned on a 10-count charge, including allegations of killing members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and engaging in terrorist activities, as brought forward by the Inspector General of Police.

Despite pleading not guilty to the charges, Olalekan Oyeyemi was remanded in the Ife correctional facility pending further legal proceedings.

His defense counsel, Edmund Biriomoni, submitted a formal bail application on seven grounds, which was met with opposition from the prosecution counsel, Francis Osie, citing specific legal provisions.

The presiding judge, Justice Emmanuel Ayoola, postponed the ruling on the bail application to a later date.

As of the latest update, the bail ruling is yet to be delivered, indicating that the legal process is still ongoing and awaiting a decision from the court.
