The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, Abia State Chapter has demanded that Governor Alex Otti disclose the names of the ninety roads he claims to have restored in his first year in office.

This was said in a statement that Elder Amah Anraham, the Abia State PDP’s acting publicity secretary, signed.

Otti was pressed by the party to list the 90 roads he repaired in a year and to disclose the price of the road contracts.

Additionally, they requested documentation from Otti demonstrating that the Abia Public Procurement Act’s rules and due process were adhered to in awarding the road contracts.

“The Abia PDP has been alerted once more to one of Governor Alex Otti’s numerous false and unverifiable claims, which only serves to perpetuate his Nazi-style propaganda methods meant to confuse and deceive the good people of Abia State,” the statement reads.

In his most recent speech to Abians, Governor Alex Otti asserted that he had repaired 90 roads in the previous year.

The Abia PDP demands that Governor Alex Otti provide a list of the ninety roads he has restored, as well as the expenses related to the road contracts. Additionally, he must demonstrate that the Abia Public Procurement Act’s rules and due procedure were adhered to in awarding the contracts.

“With the exception of confirming our information regarding the Port Harcourt road Aba project, which was re-awarded at the staggering cost of N30b and continues to spark public outcry due to its disparity with conventional road costs of that kind, the government of Governor Alex Otti has never published the cost of any road.”

“In this instance, we challenge Governor Alex Otti to follow the lead of Mr. Peter Obi, the national leader of the Labour Party, who consistently encourages people to “go and verify.” Mr. Obi is the man who carried Alex Otti to victory.

“The list needs to be made public by Governor Alex Otti so that Abians can confirm it. And if he wants the Abians to consider him seriously, he needs to do this.

“Recall that in 2019 during a debate, candidate Alex Otti confirmed that he received a list of road projects completed by the Ikpeazu administration, independently verified, and confirmed the quantity and duration of the projects.”
