2024 National Honours: President Tinubu’s Approval
President Tinubu has officially approved the 2024 National Honours Award, recognizing outstanding Nigerians across various sectors for their contributions.
The initiation of the 2024 National Honours Award has been authorized by President Bola Tinubu, acknowledging individuals who have significantly contributed to Nigeria’s progress as well as friends of the nation.
On Tuesday in Abuja, during a meeting with the management team of his ministry, Zaphaniah Jisalo – who is currently holding office as Minister for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs – declared this announcement.
Jisalo pointed out that the Federal Government will recognize outstanding individuals in diverse fields and stressed that no fees would be charged for nominations. He encouraged people to avoid making payments for national awards.

In addition, the minister urged the general public to remain vigilant for the upcoming request for nominations and prompt them to put forward names of individuals who have made a tremendous impact on their country.
Since 1963, the National Honours Award Act of 2004 has been administering these awards which acknowledge commendable accomplishments in Nigeria.
The government reiterates its dedication to honoring outstanding achievements and contributions that foster the country’s progress.
