20 kidnap victims rescued by military forces
In two distinct operations carried out in Zamfara State, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have neutralised a prominent terrorist leader from Katsina State known as Sainaje and freed twenty kidnap victims.
Operation Hadarin Daji’s information officer, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, shared details of the mission’s success on the Nigerian Army X account in a statement published on Tuesday.
“The soldiers of Joint Task Force North West, Operation Hadarin Daji, have continued their successful campaign against terrorists in their responsibilities in Zamfara State during the dry season clearance operations.
“In the recent success, the troops neutralised two terrorists, including a notorious terrorist leader from Katsina State named Sainaje, and rescued 20 kidnap victims unharmed. This resulted in the rescue of 18 kidnap victims, including children and four males and fourteen females.” It said as much.
The terrorists’ enclaves at Rukudawa, Dumburum, Tsanu, Birnin Tsaba, Magare, and Shamushalle general areas of Zurmi and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas of Zamfara State were the objective of the operations, which were carried out on January 29, 2024.
According to Ibrahim, all of the terrorists’ enclaves that were found during the operation—including the prominent terrorist boss Sule’s—were destroyed as the terrorists abandoned their camps during intense fighting with the hostile troops.
He added that in a another incidence, two victims who had been kidnapped by terrorists along Zamfara State’s Shinkafi-Isa Road were safely recovered by the military.
During a gunfight with the fiercely determined troops, the kidnappers abandoned their hostages; their quick thinking allowed for the successful rescue.
It is said that all rescued victims have been turned over to the relevant authorities so they can be reunited with their relatives.
