Zamfara, troops rescue kidnapping victims and recover motorcycles and arms
In Zamfara State, Operation Forest Sanity troops have freed several captives.
Major General Musa Danmadami, the director of defence media operations, said that while on a combat patrol to a bandit stronghold in Gummi Local Government Area’s Danmarke village on Thursday, the forces also found several weapons.
According to General Danmadami, the soldiers came upon several bandits and engaged them in a firefight.
“The terrorists fled their bunker during the firefight, with some of them running away with bullet wounds.
Three abducted victims were freed by troops who used the area to their advantage; they also found thirty (30) motorbikes, five (5) AK-47 guns, and other goods.
The military high command has praised the members of Operation Forest Sanity and has urged the public to provide troops with reliable and timely information on criminal activity, the DHQ spokesperson added.
