Governor Seyi Makinde’s dedication to improving livestock production in Oyo state has received praise from the World Bank, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, and the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES).

This commendation was given during a two-day livestock production stakeholders’ engagement, organized by the World Bank Task Team and the National Coordinating Office on the L-PRES Support Mission to Oyo State.
The event aimed to facilitate the implementation of a $500 million World Bank Project by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, with the goal of enhancing productivity, commercialization, and resilience within the livestock value chain.
The stakeholders, including the Director General of Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) and the Chairman of L-PRES in Oyo state, were taken to Fashola Farm Oyo to assess the state government’s commitment to livestock production.
Sanusi Abubakar, the L-PRES National Project Coordinator, expressed that this project is part of an ongoing implementation support mission, which has already been conducted in other states such as Bauchi, Gombe, and Enugu.
He emphasized the urgency of implementing this livestock program in Nigeria, as directed by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyiari.
