Worker accused of stealing cow skin is remanded by a sharia court

According to NAN, a Sharia Court in Kano State on Tuesday ruled that Abdulwahab Yusuf, 23, be remanded in custody after he admitted to stealing cow skin worth N8,500.

Yusuf, a resident of Kano’s Tukuntawa Quarters, was accused of stealing by the police.

The subject was postponed to August 22 for a summary trial by Judge Umar Lawal-Abubakar.

The complainant, Fatihu Auwal, who also lives in Tukuntawa Quarters, reported the incident to the Fagge Police Station in Kano on August 5, according to earlier testimony from the prosecution’s attorney, Insp. Abdullahi Wada.

Wada claimed that the defendant broke into the complainant’s stand and took the cow skin.

In response to the accusation, the defendant entered a guilty plea.
