A Grade I Area Court in Kado, Abuja, docked a 27-year-old businesswoman named Mary Jideobi on Monday for allegedly spilling pepper mixture on a neighbour.

Charges against Jideobi, of Tudun-Wada village in Abuja, include intentional assault and causing great harm.

The complainant, Janet Odeh, reported the incident to the Lugbe Police Station, according to the prosecution’s attorney, Mr. Stanley Nwafoaku.

Nwafoaku claimed the defendant confronted the complainant and her daughter sometime in July and charged them with talking about her.

He continued by saying that the defendant verbally abused the complainant in addition to interfering with her conversation with her daughter.

The prosecutor added that the defendant doused the complainant in pepper mix.

The prosecution claims that the offence violated sections 399 and 247 of the Penal Code Law.

But the accused entered a not guilty plea to the accusation.
