Wike reports that PDP G5 has finished discussing its preferred candidate for president
The governor went on to say that the 2023 elections will be a battle to the bitter end.
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has given a hint that discussions with his G5 political friends on the preferred presidential candidate to run in the February 25 election will soon come to a close.
In the Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state, Wike addressed the crowd on Tuesday during a PDP (People’s Democratic Party) rally.
The governor said that the people who live in the state are smart about politics and won’t sit on the sidelines during the general elections on February 25 and March 11, 2023.
“At this point, one man has one vote.” From the governorship to the Assembly, all of the votes must be cast together. On the other hand, we’re coming to an end. “You will be informed when we are finished,” he assured the crowd of party members present.
You shouldn’t let anyone intimidate you. Nobody ought to share a story with you. We were born free in this nation. We do not live in a lower social class. Nobody is in a position to inform us. They’re on me. Let anyone act in an amusing way, and we’ll let them know we’re from Rivers State.
The governor went on to say that the 2023 elections will be a battle to the bitter end.”This election is a struggle to the finish, and we are very prepared.” We are anticipating the return of those strangers, those individuals who would give up their state for a bowl of porridge. He asked his fans loudly, “Do they have anything to offer?” to which they all retorted, “No.”

Never-ending Arguments
Atiku Abubakar, a PDP presidential contender, and Iyorchia Ayu have been at odds over the latter’s chairmanship for months. As a prerequisite for supporting Atiku’s ten-year ambition in the February 25 presidential election, the five unsatisfied governors want Ayu to resign so that a southerner can take his place. Ayu, however, has vowed that he won’t step down until his four-year constitutional term is over.
Reports say that Wike and some of his friends recently met with Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the APC, in London to talk about a possible deal. However, both the governor of Rivers State and Bola Tinubu have denied that they met.
Wike pledged logistical support for the campaigns of Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party in November. Wike has also recently socialised with APC luminaries including Adams Oshiomhole and the governors of Ebonyi, Lagos, and Cross River.
It’s unclear whether Wike and his allies will back Obi, Kwankwaso, or Tinubu in the race for Aso Rock’s top post, despite the fact that they haven’t been spotted supporting Atiku.
