Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, declared on Saturday that God would not grant power to those who are “wicked” and who would quickly sell off Nigeria.
The governor started work on the Ogbo-Ihugbogbo Road in the state’s Ahoada East Local Government Area by saying, “We can never play God because we know the role that God has played in our lives.”
“Don’t use deception to get control…
God won’t ever give the wicked authority, according to Wike.
The governor made the veiled comment in response to what the governors of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, and Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, had said recently.
Okowa, who is Atiku Abubakar’s running mate for the presidency in 2023, spoke at a rally in Delta on Friday. He asserted that neither the G5 nor anybody else can prevent God from giving the party victory in the upcoming election.
The G5, or Integrity Group, is made up of five disgruntled PDP governors and is headed by Wike. Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, and Okezie Ikpeazu are other group members (Abia).
The G5 and Atiku have been at odds since the party’s presidential primaries in May, and the G5 has demanded that Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP’s national chairman, quit in exchange for a southern replacement before it will support Atiku’s ten-year dream.

In response to Okowa’s remarks, Wike stated that the G5 had divine support, which explains why the organisation keeps getting stronger.
Some claim that God, not the G5, will pick who will be president.
Nobody else could even breathe, let alone hold a position, without God, which is why we are where we are today, the governor said on Saturday.
“So, nobody can tell us that power comes from God alone; we are aware of this fact, but we ask our God not to give power to people who would immediately sell off Nigeria.” We ask God to prevent you from entering into an agreement with anyone who will thereafter change within the next two minutes.
“Our request to God is that He prevent people from betraying their brothers after they have reached an agreement.” God, may You never allow such people, and so God continues to fortify G5.
Wike claimed that despite the desire of people in Atiku’s camp for the G5 to break, this has never happened.
The governor added that statements like the one Tambuwal is credited with making him enraged “Someone stated that they will deal with us once we make a decision.”We find these things annoying,” he remarked.
The PDP will address the G5 when the group announces its preference for a presidential candidate in January, according to Tambuwal, who also serves as the director general of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign organisation.
According to reports, Wike and his friends visited Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, on Thursday in London to discuss a potential arrangement, but there doesn’t appear to have been any progress.
Wike promised logistical help for the presidential campaigns of the Labour Party’s (LP) Peter Obi and the New Nigerian People’s Party’s (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso in November. Wike has also recently socialised with APC luminaries including Adams Oshiomhole and the governors of Ebonyi, Lagos, and Cross River.
It’s unclear whether Wike and his allies will back Obi, Kwankwaso, or Tinubu in the race for Aso Rock’s top post, despite the fact that they haven’t been spotted supporting Atiku.
