Wike Charges PDP National Leadership With Anti-Party Activities

The upcoming election is, according to Wike, a struggle that must be won.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national leadership telling lawyers managing legal actions on behalf of the PDP in the state to distance themselves from the lawsuits is, according to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, an act of anti-party.

In his speech at the Rivers State PDP campaign kickoff event in the Etche Local Government Area on Monday, Governor Wike pointed the finger at the national leadership of the party.

However, Wike claims that the national leadership did not support the drive. The PDP in Rivers has sued some political parties in the state for breaking rules and laws of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the course of their various primaries.

According to him, the national leadership has requested that the attorneys handling the different legal proceedings withdraw their legal submissions rather than support the PDP’s lawsuits in Rivers State.

According to the governor of Rivers State, since the PDP national has started playing the anti-party game, it will receive anti-party treatment in return.

“We’ve got them now.” They are the ones waging anti-party campaigns. I warned them that anti-party behavior breeds anti-party behavior. You are aware that we sued these little parties (APC, SDP) for breaking the law.

“The persons in Abuja who claim to be nationals have gone to cooperate with them (the opposition parties) to prepare a letter telling our lawyers to take a back seat, in an effort to scuttle the cases we filed,” one of them said. I’ve instructed our attorneys to stop working on the cases. I’ll get back to them by tomorrow.

No one can harm us without leaving a scar. I would leave him with many scars if he dared touch us in Rivers State, and we have already started that. This is a vote for our people. You have now admitted to us that you are anti-party. We’ll demonstrate what an “anti-party” is. We have already caught them in the act.

The Etche people were asked by Governor Wike to return home, get ready by completing the remaining information on their Permanent Voters Card with INEC, and cast their votes for all PDP candidates running in the state. The governor highlighted that the upcoming election is a struggle that must be fought.

The governor emphasized that the PDP in Rivers is a strong team that is ready for the election and has what it takes to ensure that it is peaceful and that all of its candidates are guaranteed votes.

Governor Wike then thanked the people of Etche for coming out in such large numbers to the event and showing their continued support for the PDP in Rivers State.

He emphasized that, in all material respects, the PDP-run state government had fulfilled every promise made to them since 2015.

More than eight important roads were built, a Rivers State University campus opened nearby, and their son was named vice chancellor of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.

Governor Wike asked them to choose Sir Siminialayi Fubara as his successor so that he could build on what his government had done well.

In order for him and the entire consolidation team to win, PDP candidate Sir Siminialayi Fubara for governor of Rivers State asked the Etche people for large numbers of votes during his speech.

He said that if elected, his government would make sure that the state’s courts were never closed.

Additionally, Fubara guaranteed that workers would continue to receive a regular salary and that state-owned property would never be sold to the cronies of the powerful.

The PDP candidate for governor claimed that his expertise and comprehension of Governor Wike’s new Rivers Vision, which acts as the framework for his administration, will ensure his victory in the poll on March 11.

Ambassador Desmond Akawor, the PDP’s Rivers State Chairman, gave party flags to each candidate running for a position while urging voters to support them.

The Etche people enjoy a better quality of life under Governor Wike’s government, according to Brother Felix Obuah, director general of the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign council. He advised people to remain determined to cast a large number of votes for the PDP on this basis.

Nnamdi Okere, a former chairman of the Etche council, stated that the upcoming election is about expressing love and thanks to Governor Wike, whose government has helped the land and people of Etche.

The Rivers East Senatorial District candidate, Chief Allwell Nyesoh, addressed the crowd on behalf of the other candidates, accepting the duty of hoisting the party’s banner and pledging that they would offer competent representation in the manner of Governor Wike.

To inform the king of the launch of the PDP campaign in Etche Local Government Area, Governor Wike earlier paid a visit to Onye-Isi Etche, king Emmanuel N. B. Opurum of Etche Land, at his palace in Ndashi.
