Why I no longer make music videos for Asake by TG Omori
Famous Nigerian music director and cinematographer ThankGod Omori Smith, often known as TG Omori or Boy Director, has finally revealed why he stopped filming for singer Asake.
Remember how Omori and Asake first collaborated in 2022, when they released the hit song “Organise”?
Asake’s most recent music videos were directed by someone else, which sparked rumours.
Since their most recent effort, “YOGA,” did not garner as much attention as his other films, it was claimed that Asake was angry with TG.
Speaking on his business deal with Asake, TG emphasised that Olamide, the artist and head of the YBNL record label, believes in giving people opportunities and that it would be unfair to hold that against him in an interview on the Zero Condition podcast.
People do take breaks, even when a husband and wife divorce. We’ve produced about 12 videos, so I believe we’ve accomplished enough. We remain incredibly calm. You are aware that this is a company and that you must respect your clients’ choices in the end.
“I prefer it when artists are free to experiment with fresh ideas. We are boys, so you have to shoot with me. I don’t want that. I’m not sure why it occurred.
“Because I am eternally with YBNL, I think it is crazy love. You are aware that Olamide and I have a long history together, and that he is the kind of person who makes sure that everyone has enough to eat. Before I arrived, he was working with other directors, and he allowed me the chance to do my thing as well.
Thus, he is presently collaborating with a talented individual. a successful and highly decent man. There you have it, Olamide. And I’ve messed up if I take that personally.
