A lawyer representing former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, Kalu Kalu, who was involved in the lawsuit brought against President Bola Tinubu in the United States, has made some discoveries.

Kalu said one of the documents given by Chicago State University (CSU) showed that Tinubu reportedly fabricated the certificate of a black American in response to inquiries at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.

Due to President Bola Tinubu’s academic standing at Chicago State University (CSU), Atiku had initiated a lawsuit against him.

Tinubu attempted to stop the release of the documents by claiming that it was an invasion of his privacy, but the court rejected his request.

The documents were then obtained by Atiku’s attorneys on Monday, and CSU Registrar Caleb Westberg gave an oral deposition.

A deposition is the process of recording an individual’s sworn, out-of-court spoken testimony. This testimony could be written down and used as a transcript in court or for discovery.

On the certificate issued or released by Chicago State University to the solicitors of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Kalu remarked in Abuja. Here are the papers; One is that Bola Ahmed Tinubu faked the document he gave INEC.

“Two, that a woman is the bearer of the qualifying certificate from Southwest College to Chicago State University. Therefore, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not the owner of the paper.

“Third, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s graduation from Government College Lagos is claimed on the Chicago State University admission application form as having occurred in 1970, despite the fact that the university’s founding year was 1974. The same certificate indicates that its owner is a Black American, and when Bola Ahmed Tinubu submitted it to INEC, he denied holding dual citizenship, so it is not his.

The assertion that the certificate Tinubu gave to INEC was faked has been rejected by the president in the meantime.

Temitope Ajayi, a spokesperson for President Tinubu, released a statement on Wednesday to address the controversy surrounding CSU.

“Let’s be clear, please. There was no mention of the certificate President Tinubu presented to INEC as being a forgery anywhere in the deposition provided by Chicago State University.

“The University maintained on oath that President Tinubu graduated with honours, and even then, vendors, not the University, replace misplaced diplomas.

“The assertion that President Tinubu presented a phoney certificate to INEC is illogical. The academic credentials that a man possesses cannot be falsified. Only what you lack can be forged.
