Vote for anybody you choose in 2023, Buhari instructs Nigerians
Nigerians, according to President Muhammadu Buhari, should cast their votes for anybody they choose from any political party in the general elections of 2023.
He declared that no one would be permitted to use goons and resources to intimidate citizens in any constituency.
Wednesday night, following a visit with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, he gave a speech in London.
“My goal is to make sure that Nigerians feel respected by the government.
The president stated, “That’s what I want to be remembered for as a leader in Nigeria.”
He voiced faith in the success of the current administration’s All Progressives Congress (APC) and Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its presidential nominee.
He thinks Tinubu’s selection by the APC as its presidential candidate is fortunate. Buhari said, “We’re going to win the election,” when questioned about the APC’s prospects in the 2023 elections.
“Tinubu, the presidential contender, is a highly well-known politician in the nation. He served as governor of Lagos State for two terms, which is the most resourceful and popular state. Therefore, he stated, “I believe the party was fortunate to obtain him to be the candidate.
The president said that the topic of his discussion with King Charles was enhancing the two countries’ ties with the UK.
“Maybe because of Nigeria’s relationship with Britain for a long time, our economic strength, I think we’re still of tremendous attachment to them,” he claimed, adding that the British monarch was extremely interested in Nigeria.
According to Buhari, he informed King Charles that he didn’t own a home in the UK.
“He (King Charles III) asked me whether I have a property here (in the UK). I said that I live alone in Nigeria and that the only properties I own are ones I owned before to entering politics. I’m also not very interested in owning houses all over the world. When I have nothing, I feel much more liberated.
