Unemployed male convicted and sent to jail for stealing parts of a fridge

Bulus Sunday, a 20-year-old unemployed man, was sentenced to one year in prison without the possibility of a punishment by an Area Court in Jos on Friday for stealing refrigerator parts.

After entering a guilty plea, the judge, Mr. Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced him on Sunday.

The prosecution’s attorney, Inspector Ibrahim Gokwat, had earlier informed the court that the complainant, Pandong Demi, had reported the case on September 7 at the “A” police station.

According to the prosecutor, the prisoner broke into the home and stole copper cables, refrigerator panels, and chiller panels before the security guard discovered him.

According to Gokwat, the offence was committed in violation of the Plateau State Criminal Code. In NAN
