The Canadian High Commission in Nigeria has announced that it is still accepting applications for immigration, refugee status, and citizenship at its offices in Lagos and Abuja.

Following a fire at its generator house that killed two lives on Monday, the Canadian High Commission had announced on Tuesday that operations in its Abuja office would be suspended.

Nigerians had voiced concern that the halt to operations would complicate the visa application procedure.

However, the Canadian High Commission made it clear in a message published on its X handle on Thursday that its visa application centres in Lagos and Abuja are still up and running.
