U.S. Embassy says that two of the attack’s staff members were recovered safely in Anambra
The American Embassy in Abuja reports that two of its staff members who were involved in the attack on its convoy in Anambra have been found alive.
The U.S. government is actively trying to identify and apprehend the crime’s perpetrators, the Embassy stated in a statement released on Friday in Abuja.
It claims that the two U.S. Mission staffers who have been missing since the Anambra state attack on May 16 are secure, alive, and under the protection of Nigerian authorities.
Their families have been notified of their safe recovery. Personnel from the U.S. Mission will be there to welcome them and drive them home.
“We continue to collaborate closely with Nigerian law enforcement and security agencies on this issue in order to identify the victims who have already been located and to apprehend those guilty for this horrible crime.
“We are open to hearing from the public if they have any information.
“We deeply appreciate the support and solidarity of the Nigerian government and our law enforcement and security colleagues in Nigeria and we mourn with them for those who lost their lives in the attack.”
