Two suspects held for attempting to bribe police officers in Ekiti

Kayode Seun and Godwin Festus have been detained by the Ado-Ekiti magistrates court on charges of conspiracy, fraud, cybercrime, and bribing police officers.

Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, the prosecutor, presented evidence to support the remand of the two men, who are suspected of planning to commit fraud and were found in possession of a potentially stolen Mercedes Benz CLA car.

Furthermore, the prosecutor claimed that on April 22, 2024, at 11 am in Ikere-Ekiti, the defendants allegedly attempted to bribe police officers with N485,000.

The defendants’ lawyer, Iyanu Olumuagun, withdrew her appearance due to personal reasons.

In the ruling, Magistrate A. O. Owoleso ordered that a hearing notice be delivered to the defendants through the officers of the correctional center and adjourned the case until June 6.
