Two officers killed in Nigerian Immigration station during bandit attack

In Kebbi State, Northwest Nigeria, two officers from the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) tragically lost their lives during an attack by bandits.

The incident occurred at the NIS station in Garin Garba, near Kangiwa, the administrative center of Arewa Local Government Area.

The bandits stormed the station and unleashed gunfire, resulting in the deaths of Isa Nafiu and Garba Haruna Fana, both officers of the NIS.

This information was shared by Abdul Isa, the spokesperson for the state police command, in a statement released in Birnin Kebbi. Regrettably, on Monday, January 15, 2024, a group of suspected bandits launched the attack on the immigration officers stationed at Garin Garba, located approximately 12 kilometers away from Kangiwa.

The brave officers who lost their lives were identified as Isa Nafi’u (II) NIS No. 34057 and Garba Haruna Fana (II) NIS No. 17796. It is worth noting that one officer managed to escape unharmed.
