ASP Olumide Bamigbade, the Police Prosecutor, told the court that the defendants had occasionally committed the offences at Oye-Ekiti in November 2023.
Bamigbade claimed that the defendants took N54,000 in cash from an individual named Omotosho Funmilayo and N30,700 from an individual named Adeyemi Tawa.
He said that the charges were against Ekiti State’s 2021 Criminal Laws, Section 302(1)(a).
In order to review the case file and present his witnesses, the prosecutor requested a postponement of the hearing from the court.
But the defendants entered a not guilty plea to the police-filed allegations against them.
Mr. Kayode Oyeyemi, the defendants’ attorney, pleaded with the judge to set bail for them and assured that they would not post it prematurely.
The case was postponed till February 7 for a hearing after the magistrate, Mrs. Olubunmi Bamidele, granted the defendants bail in the amount of N50,000 per, with one surety in the same amount.
