On KARETO Road in the Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State, northeastern Nigeria, a commuter car was ambushed by a roadside improvised explosive device.

The Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) is thought to have planted the alleged IED for troops, with a firearms attack coming afterward.

The commuter vehicle suffered damage, one passenger died, and five others were hurt in varied degrees.

However, soldiers from 5 Brigade Operation Hadin Kai carried out fighting clearance patrols at the spot and cleared the area before returning the body and injured to Gubio Town.
