The military’s Defence Headquarters reported that in the previous week, troops engaged in operations nationwide successfully eliminated 216 terrorists and apprehended 332 criminals.
Additionally, they managed to rescue 161 individuals who had been kidnapped, showcasing the effectiveness of their efforts in maintaining security and combating criminal activities within the country.
Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, made the announcement regarding these significant achievements in a statement released on Friday, April 26.
The detailed report provided by Gen. Buba highlighted the recovery of a substantial number of weapons, including various firearms and explosives, which were seized from the criminals during the operations.

Furthermore, the troops were able to recover a large quantity of assorted ammunition, further diminishing the capabilities of the criminal elements.
In the Niger Delta region, the military’s operations resulted in the recovery of stolen crude oil and illegally refined diesel, as well as the arrest of numerous oil thieves, demonstrating their commitment to combating illegal activities in all parts of the country.
Gen. Buba emphasized that the military would continue to conduct robust operations against terrorist groups and criminal elements, ensuring the safety and security of the nation’s citizens.
