The election of PDP member Timothy Dantong to represent the Riyom constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly has been overturned by the National and State Houses of Assembly election tribunal, which is based in Plateau State.
Moses Dachum, a candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), was proclaimed the election’s victor by the court.
The Tribunal, presided over by Justice B.M. Tukur, determined that the PDP lacked a legitimate framework to field a candidate at the time of the election.
The party was still disobeying a court order issued by Justice S. P. Gang of the Plateau State High Court on November 26, 2020, according to the court.
