Tragedy in Lagos: 54-Year-Old Man Takes His Own Life

A 54-year-old man has tragically taken his own life in Lagos. Discover the details behind this heartbreaking incident.

The Lagos State Police Command has sadly affirmed that Benjamin, a 54-year-old man in the Agege region, reportedly committed suicide.

The local community was shocked by the incident that took place on Sunday, September 15th at approximately 8 p.m.

Benjamin Hundeyin’s elder brother notified the Elere Police Station upon discovering Benjamin’s lifeless body. The residence had him hanging in its store area, as stated by SP Benjamin Hundeyin who is a representative for the State Police Command.

Upon arriving at the location, police officers swiftly verified that no apparent signs of assault could be observed on the late individual. Initially transported to Orile-Agege General Hospital for further examination, his passing was subsequently confirmed.

A comprehensive autopsy is now being carried out on it at Mainland Hospital in Yaba after its relocation.

According to SP Hundeyin, the investigation of the incident is still in progress and our detectives are actively seeking further information.

It is worth noting that a distressing incident occurred recently involving a 65-year-old man who was blind. He, along with his two teenage children aged 14 and 12, were rescued from an attempted suicide on the Third Mainland Bridge.

In the midst of great adversity, the man had contemplated ending his life with a glimmer of hope that his offspring would be taken care of by authorities following his demise.
