Shocking incident in Anambra as three siblings are brutally murdered, with their bodies discovered hidden in a deep freezer. Authorities launch investigation.

In a devastating incident, three siblings aged 5, 7, and 9 were discovered murdered with their bodies hidden in a deep freezer at their residence in Nnewichi, Nnewi, Anambra State.

The perpetrators responsible for the horrific act have not yet been identified.

The victims, Ejezie Chikaima Daviana (9), Ejezie Chimziterem Dominica (7), and Ejezie Chimdilim David (5), were reportedly left home alone while their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie—who is both a lecturer and a nurse—left to take an examination.

Upon returning home, Mrs. Ejezie was shocked to see the front door wide open—a rarity since the children usually locked it when they played outside. Her worst fears were realized upon discovering her three children’s lifeless bodies inside the freezer.

Mr. Ejezie Udochukwu, the father of the deceased siblings and a resident of Irrua in Edo State, stated that he received a call from his wife on Saturday, February 1st, informing him about the incident. Consequently, he had to rush to Nnewichi immediately.

Udochukwu explained that when his wife arrived home, she didn’t find the children. She and others searched for them, including at the church where they served as altar boys and girls, but they were not there.

He explained, “After my wife searched for the kids on her own and organized a search party without any success, she was in despair. Then, when she opened the deep freezer, to her shock and horror, there were the lifeless bodies of our children.”

In the bungalow where we live with two tenants and our landlord, the children were having their meal when the assailants burst into the house around noon. Evidence of hastily abandoned food was left in plates on the table.

“The bodies of the children have been taken to a morgue, and we reported the matter to CPS Nnewi. The police are currently investigating. I am utterly devastated; my three kids were killed at the same time by unknown assailants.”

State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident and stated that Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Itam has initiated a comprehensive investigation.

“The bodies have been retrieved, and the case has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for a comprehensive investigation. Further details will be provided later,” Ikenga stated.

In the meantime, residents of Nnewichi are demanding a thorough investigation and justice for the three siblings who were murdered in Anambra.

This incident occurs a month after three siblings were discovered deceased in a parked vehicle within their parents’ premises in Nise, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State (more details here).

The three boys, aged two to six years, were discovered lifeless inside their father’s car parked in the compound.

Eyewitnesses reported that their mouths were bound, and the car was smeared with blood, suggesting a deliberately orchestrated and chilling act of violence.

The father, a man in his early thirties, often locks the children inside the compound when he leaves for work with their mother. He returns briefly to give them meals before going back to his business.

While the parents were away, the perpetrator is believed to have climbed over the wall to gain access to the premises before committing the crime.
