Tiwa Savage, a Grammy-winning singer from Nigeria, is scheduled to perform during King Charles III of England’s historic coronation.
On Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey, King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla will be formally crowned. King Charles III is taking the throne after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away last year.
On Sunday, May 7, 2023, the coronation concert and Big Lunch will be held.
Tiwa Savage will perform at the coronation concert among stars including Steve Winwood, DJ Pete Tong, Lang Lang and Lucy, Paloma Faith, and Olly Murs.
She becomes the first Nigerian performer to be invited to take part in a royal coronation ceremony abroad.
Among the few African artists who were selected to perform at the historic coronation, she is the only one from Nigeria.
