For his comments regarding the President Bola Tinubu certificate dispute, Peter Obi, a presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has drawn criticism from Lauretta Onochie, a former adviser to Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Onochie, Obi is ineligible to criticise Tinubu because he failed to govern Anambra State.

Obi asserted at the press conference that outsiders will perceive Nigerians as fraudsters, con artists, and identity thieves.

The previous governor of Anambra State commanded Tinubu to divulge his real identity.

Onochie responded by writing on X, “Dear Peter Obi, you have brazenly gone on national TV to call on the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to reveal his name to Nigerians and the world.

“This is the most stupid request Nigerians have ever heard from one, whose advisers are people with mental health issues,” the speaker said.

“If you can appear on live television and dispute the identification of a man who has been given the go-ahead by all of our security personnel to serve as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that should be sufficient justification and confirmation for your resounding defeat in the election of 2023.

We kept a close eye on the situation to see if a pistol was pointed in your direction as you demanded to know the name of a candidate for the highest office in the land who had been investigated and given the all-clear by Nigerian security officials. However, there was none. You completed it on your own.

“Peter, go home. In our wonderful country, you will never be elected president. You don’t deserve to be the leader of our country, aside from the obvious fact that you came in third place.

“Your attitude and demeanour are not necessary qualities for the leadership of a multicultural country like Nigeria. You let down Anambra. Even the South East cannot be led by you! Your very eyes saw the South East turn into a combat zone.

“A once thriving economy built on toil and sacrifice was decimated. Ruining of lives and property. Stop being so desperate. Your goals go above and beyond what you deserve. Never will this happen.
