Dele Momodu, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made serious allegations against the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday.

According to Momodu, the APC is actively working to dismantle the opposition by employing various tactics.

He claimed that the APC would go as far as buying off individuals who can be influenced and intimidating those who cannot be swayed, all in an effort to create chaos within the opposition.

Momodu firmly placed the blame for all the challenges faced by the PDP on the APC, accusing them of orchestrating a campaign to stifle opposition voices.

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Momodu specifically pointed fingers at President Bola Tinubu, who was once an opposition leader himself.

Momodu expressed his disappointment in Tinubu’s actions, stating that despite his previous role as an opposition leader in Lagos, he now seems determined to suppress any form of opposition.

Momodu found it ironic that a former opposition leader is now in power and actively working against the existence of opposition parties.

The PDP, as the main opposition party, has been grappling with internal conflicts since the fallout of its presidential election primary in 2023.

This internal crisis ultimately led to the party’s defeat in the general election.

Despite efforts to resolve the issues, the PDP has been unable to find a solution, leaving the party in a vulnerable position.

The APC’s alleged actions to weaken the opposition further exacerbate the challenges faced by the PDP, making it even more difficult for them to regain their footing and challenge the ruling party.
