Charles Oputa, alias Charly Boy, a controversial artist, has stated that he is still in Nigeria despite the fact that his favourite presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, did not win because he is “hopeful.”

According to Obasanjonews24, before the 2023 presidential elections, Charly Boy pledged to leave Nigeria if either Bola Tinubu of the current All Progressives Congress, APC, or Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won.

Tinubu was proclaimed the winner of the presidential election on February 25th and inaugurated in as president on May 29th.

Charly Boy said he is staying in the country months after Tinubu’s inauguration because Peter Obi revived his hope.

On Friday, he announced this via his Twitter handle.

“I remember saying over a year ago that if the PDP or APC won the election, I’d just pack my tins and leave Nigeria.”

“I am still in Nigeria today because I am hopeful in the face of all the Potopoto I see.”

“Thank you, Peter Obi, for giving me new hope.” “God bless you,” he said.
