Tinubu updates COAS Lagbaja’s instructions
President Bola Tinubu has instructed Lt-Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, to pay the insurance benefits owing to the families of officers and soldiers who died while defending the country right away.
At the beginning of the Combined Second and Third Quarters COAS Conference on Tuesday in Abuja, Taoreed Lagbaja announced the President’s instructions.
The wellbeing of the troops and their families was of utmost importance, according to the COAS.
“We shall ensure that the recently announced Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers Scheme, aimed to provide affordable and high-quality post-service homes for our soldiers, operates in addition to providing proper living accommodations for our men.
He said, “We will also see to it that our wounded warriors receive the best medical attention, and we will keep supporting the widows and next-of-kin of our fallen heroes.”
Lagbaja expressed his gratitude to the President for his order regarding the outstanding insurance payments.
He promised that the Nigerian Army will devote all of its resources to defending the nation’s Constitution.
Lagbaja advised army men to continue collaborating with other security organisations to resolutely address the security issues the nation is now facing.
