According to LEADERSHIP, President Bola Tinubu has called a meeting to address the ongoing political unrest in Ondo State.

This Friday at 2:00 PM, in the Presidential Villa in Abuja, is when the meeting will take place. Major players in the conflict will be there, including members of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the deputy governor of Ondo State, and assistants to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who is ill.

As everything was going on, the Ondo State House of Assembly appeared to be at a standstill politically due to the unresolvable conflict between Governor Akeredolu and his deputy, Hon. Aiyedatiwa.

For an unspecified reason, this Friday’s Assembly meeting to resolve the impasse has been rescheduled.

Friday was a visit to the Assembly complex, when nobody but public personnel could be seen going about their business.

The Assembly’s security personnel were also present at their assigned posts. But there were no more guards to indicate that there was a problem in the Assembly.

It was learned that Friday morning was the Assembly’s scheduled meeting. They were, nevertheless, kept back for the Aso Rock summit in Abuja.

At their scheduled meeting this Friday morning, the members, according to a source, intended to formally hand over power to the deputy governor in an acting capacity.

Nevertheless, word spread that the conference had been rescheduled for a later time of day.

At the time this report was filed, none of the members were present, and calls seeking explanation were not returned to Hon. Olatunji Oshati, the House spokesperson.
