On Sunday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to attend the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit.

This information was included in a statement made by Bayo Onanuga, the Presidential spokesman.

According to the statement, Tinubu arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport at 10 a.m. local time and was welcomed by Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Bin Abdulaziz, the deputy governor of the Riyadh region.

The summit, organized at the behest of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, will concentrate on the present circumstances in the Middle East.

Earlier, Onanuga stated that the meeting would focus on addressing several key regional issues, particularly emphasizing the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict.

Onanuga stated that the Nigerian President would address the crisis, emphasizing Nigeria’s call for an immediate ceasefire and stressing the urgent necessity of reaching a peaceful resolution.

He mentioned that Tinubu would advocate for renewed international initiatives to revitalize the two-state solution as a feasible route to achieving lasting peace.

At the summit, President Tinubu is anticipated to discuss the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict, highlighting Nigeria’s strong demand for an immediate ceasefire and emphasizing the urgent need for a peaceful resolution.

Onanuga mentioned that Nigeria will advocate for renewed efforts to rejuvenate the two-state solution as a pathway to lasting peace in the region.

The summit is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 11, 2024.
