Chieftain Eze responds to comments made by Okocha, claiming that President Tinubu is aware of the reasons behind a potential failure in the 2027 elections, sparking political debate.

In a conversation with Tony Okocha, the former National Publicity Secretary of the now-defunct New Peoples Democratic Party and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze asserted that ex-Minister Chibuike Amaechi will not play any role in removing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from office in 2027.

It was recently reported that Okocha stated, “There is a plan to promote Amaechi’s ally and install him as the leader of APC. This will pave way for Amaechi to lead the party against President in 2027.”

In response to a statement released on Sunday, Eze advised Okocha not to exploit Amaechi for his own financial gain. He warned that certain individuals and their associates are alarmed by the mere mention of Amaechi’s name and have been covertly orchestrating malicious attacks against him.

Eze pointed out to Okocha that the multitude of administrative failures, changes in policies and corruption at multiple levels have contributed significantly to issues such as hyper-unemployment, insecurity and increase in food prices. This has become a powerful arsenal for Nigerians who wish to remove Tinubu from his position by 2027.

According to the APC Chief, Okocha’s statement about 2027 being three years away from today was imprudent since no one is certain of what will happen in their future as stated in James 4:14. It was mentioned that it would be foolish for someone of mortal means like Okocha to make such predictions.

Eze encouraged Okocha and his associates to seek guidance from Tinubu and the founders of APC, in order to determine who holds true leadership over Rivers and South South. He highlighted that during the formation of APC, Tinubu was crowned National Leader whilst Amaechi took on responsibility as leader for South South. Eze also noted how despite Buhari’s presidency beginning, Tinubu remained firmly rooted in his position as national leader throughout this time.

Okocha and his alleged sponsors were urged to focus on the fact that Nigeria, once considered Africa’s largest nation has deteriorated in all aspects under Tinubu’s watch. The speaker advised them to direct their efforts towards finding solutions for the array of challenges they have created which are hindering Nigeria’s progress instead of reprimanding Okocha.

Okocha was accused by Eze of organizing a protest that received payment in excess of fifty million Naira to support Tinubu. This event resulted in no impact and occurred subsequent to Okocha’s removal from court, with the purpose being for him to remain favorable towards his employers and continually gain their praise.
