This Must Stop” – Rita Edochie Condemns Death Rumours About Osita Iheme ‘Pawpaw’
Nollywood actress Rita Edochie expresses outrage over false death rumors surrounding her colleague Osita Iheme, popularly known as ‘Pawpaw,’ urging the public to verify information before spreading it.
Nollywood veteran Rita Edochie has voiced her frustration regarding the persistent death rumors concerning her colleague, Osita Iheme, widely recognized as Pawpaw.
The actress revealed that she has recently encountered these death rumors about Pawpaw on two separate occasions.
She expressed her astonishment that some fans, alarmingly, accepted the false information and expressed their condolences in the comments.
In an extensive post on Instagram, Edochie raised her concerns about the overwhelming frequency of death-related news involving actors.
She pointed out that similar false reports had been made about her, mentioning that a photograph of her taken on a film set was misused to propagate the misleading information.
She stated, “This rumor has surfaced before. Just a few days ago, it reemerged for the second time, with images of my esteemed son and fellow veteran, Osita Iheme, known as Pawpaw, circulating widely on social media accompanied by claims of his death. Disturbingly, some internet users accepted the false narrative and began posting RIP messages.
“I have previously addressed this issue, and I reiterate: social media has caused more harm than good to society. While it has provided significant opportunities for many Nigerian youths, the misuse of this platform is becoming increasingly problematic.”
