Terrorists kill one and kidnap five people, including the traditional the ruler

Magaji Makau, the district head of Ruwan Rana in Zamfara State’s Bukkuyum Local Government Area, along with five other people, were kidnapped by terrorists early on Saturday morning.

In a similar vein, another individual lost their life in the assault.

Mohammed Musa, a local resident, claimed that early on Saturday morning, the bandits on motorbikes broke into Ruwan Rana town.

According to Musa, the terrorists entered the town at around three in the morning, started shooting intermittently, and then proceeded to kidnap the district chief and five other notable individuals by going from house to house.

He claimed, “Everyone fled into cover when we heard gunfire at three in the morning because we knew the bandits were going to kidnap us.

“They went from house to house, shot one person, kidnapped five people, including our district head, and then made their way back to the forest.”

“I was unaware of those kidnapped until I heard in the morning that Alhaji Makau, the district head, was one of the victims,” the speaker said.

Hon. Hamisu Faru, a representative for the area in the state House of Assembly, expressed dismay at the incident and gave an assurance that the victims will be rescued shortly.

“The security agents are working to rescue the district head and the other five people,” he stated.

As of the time this report was filled up, ASP Yazid Abubakar, the public relations officer for the state police, could not be reached.
