The Taraba State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, or NUT, has petitioned Governor Agbu Kefas to persuade the State Primary Education Board’s administration to pay the union’s annual dues.
The Board’s leadership has been delaying the necessary checkup for more than two years, according to information acquired by OBASANJO NEWS24.
The Board’s rejection to remit the dues, according to the state NUT Chairman Nathan Solomon, who made the appeal on Monday in a news release, has turned into a nightmare for the union.

The union demanded the governor’s assistance after alleging that all previous attempts to collect the board’s dues were unsuccessful.
“We have operated our union for more than two years without remitting checkup dues.”
“The state Primary Board has withheld the dues; we are pleading with the governor to take action.”
Solomon urged the governor to settle the teachers’ five-month salary arrears, which were owed by the previous administration, and reaffirmed the union’s willingness to support the current state government.
