Taraba: Joint operation by Army, Police, and vigilante results in the death of over 50 bandits

In Taraba State, the Army, Police, and vigilantes jointly put an end to about fifty bandits.

The state’s local government council in Bali was being terrorised by the bandits.

The spokesperson for Taraba State Police Command, Usman Abdullahi, stated that the operation took place in Tonti village, which is located in the Maihula District of the council.

According to the police spokeswoman, who made this announcement on Thursday, the Command would not let up until all criminals are driven from the state.

He claimed that in the early hours of November 28, 2023, the Command received information about an incursion by a sizable group of unidentified shooters who were thought to be robbers.

Around a hundred attackers attacked Tonti village during Muslim morning prayers, striking fear in the community.

“The Commissioner acted quickly, directing the deployment of a tactical team from Bali Division to work with hunters, Vigilante, and the Army. When the united squad arrived at the village, they engaged the bandits in a furious gunfight.

“Throughout the fierce gunfight, security personnel demonstrated remarkable weaponry, which led to the elimination of more than fifty bandits. A few attackers were able to flee while still carrying injuries, according to the spokeswoman.

The police spokeswoman continued by saying that the operation involved the dismantling of multiple bandit hideouts.
