The Commissioner of Police of Niger State, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, has reached out to traditional leaders for assistance in securing sufficient community policing and a more socially responsible approach to internal security within the state.
In the state capital of Minna, CP Danmamman made this statement during a familiarisation visit to HRH Alh. Dr. Umar Farouk Bahago, the Emir of Minna.
He clarified that one important organisation that is essential to working with security services, especially the police, is the conventional institution

According to the CP, “The Command hopes to use the Emir’s authority, reach, and respect for His Highness’s office to aid in people policing.”
In order to secure the state, he contends that as the mechanics of crime have evolved throughout time, all hands must be on deck, including those of non-state players.
As the primary internal security agency, the commissioner stated that the Police require every bit of support, collaboration, and cooperation in order to successfully provide internal security for our nation.
Danmamman went on to restate the Command’s resolve to combat crime, its fidelity to the constitution, its duty to the fatherland, and its respect for the customs and cultural heritage in order to create a safer community.
Alh. Farouk Bahago, the Emir of Minna, responded by assuring the CP of his support and full collaboration. He also praised the past Commissioners of Police in the State for their friendly relationship and guaranteed sustainability.
