Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate Leader, has issued a warning to the opposition parties not to use misinformation, deception, and malicious material to force the judiciary into partisan politics.
This was said in a statement made in Abuja on Friday by Bamidele, the 9th National Assembly’s Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters chair.
In order to further their own self-interests at the expense of Nigeria’s and Nigerians’ collective interests, he chastised the opposition parties for entangling the court in partisan politics.

Even before the opposition parties’ and their candidates’ appeals were determined, Bamidele denounced the judiciary’s unjustified blackmailing while rejoicing in President Bola Tinubu’s recent triumph at the Supreme Court.
“One of the most consistent, dependable and reliable democratic institutions that still stands for and with the oppressed in this federation,” he said of the judiciary.
“Therefore, rather than following the law, it is amoral and immoral for any political actor or party to subject the judiciary to media trial,” Bamidele stated.
“In this federation’s recent history, petitioners who have benefited greatly from the independence and impartiality of the judiciary have never denigrated the judiciary.”
