Goalkeeper for Sunshine Stars, Mustapha Lawal, described Kano Pillars as a well-oiled machine.

In the season opener of the Nigeria Premier Football League on Saturday, the Owena Waves defeated the Kano Pillars 1-0.

According to Lawal, the triumph over the Sai Masu Gida was the result of a team effort.

He also expressed happiness at the win and thanked the supporters for their steadfast support.

“Kano Pillars played as a cohesive unit, and it was a collective effort that secured this win,” he said to OBASANJO NEWS24.

“Keeping a clean sheet is always a personal aim of mine as a custodian, and I’m delighted we did it tonight.

“This victory is a testament to our hard work,” the player said. “Kano Pillars are a strong side.”
