The meeting was a continuation of their discussions on palliatives to mitigate the impact of the country’s subsidy elimination.
The labour team, led by the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, did not speak to press as they left the conference venue.
On Wednesday, representatives from the FG and labour met, and the conversations were positive.
When the discussion resumed on Friday, the administration was anticipated to provide input on some of the demands expressed by workers.
However, the meeting was cancelled because labour officials stated that the government’s representatives were not present.
Members of the labour teams were also stopped at the State House gate before entering the meeting location.
The price of petrol has risen significantly since the withdrawal of the subsidies. Labour has pledged to strike in order to secure palliatives for Nigerians as a result of the move.
