Subsidy Palliatives: Kano government tells committee that you cannot gain from them because they are only for the poor
Governor Abba Yusuf has warned the Distribution Committee against abusing their position as Kano State begins to distribute 52,000 bags of rice and 52,000 bags of maize as a palliative to the most destitute residents of the state.
The commodities have been designated exclusively for the underprivileged, according to Governor Yusuf, who launched the distribution exercise; as a result, journalists, security agents, and government employees must not approach the things.
He claimed that the palliatives will be used to lessen the impact of subsidy reduction for the most vulnerable and underprivileged.

The state will fight any attempt to divert the medications, Governor Abba asserted, claiming that the state’s elites would not profit from their use.
He added that the committee was made up of respected and religious leaders and that this is the second distribution for 484 wards throughout the 44 LGS and chosen disadvantaged groups.
The Tsangaya and Islamiyya schools, Tory homes, people with special needs, junior civil officials, widows, and orphans would benefit from each ward receiving 400 of 10 kg of free rice and 991,000 kg of free maize.
Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the Palliative Compliance Committee, disclosed that the Governor also acquired an extra 72 bags of corn and 99 trucks of rice to supplement the 50 trucks given by the federal government.
