Structures For Atiku’s Five Parties Collapse

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council and other political groups have also defected to the PDP.

A total of five political parties have merged into the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and endorsed Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate.

These are the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Action Alliance (AA), Action Peoples Party (APP), National Rescue Movement (NRM), and African Democratic Congress (ADC).

At the PDP’s grand finale rally in Adamawa State, the parties announced their choices.

Speaking on behalf of the other national chairmen of the political parties, Yusuf Dantele, National Chairman of the APM, said that the parties chose the PDP presidential torch bearer because he is the best candidate for the position.

Yet he asserted that the parties would run candidates in the contests for the national, state, and local assemblies.

Six PDP governors, including Governors Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), and Bala Mohammed, participated in the event, which took place in Jimeta-Ribadu Yola’s Square (Bauchi).

Seven days before the February 25 presidential election, Atiku and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, are wrapping up their campaigns.
