Sokoto: Troops Save 52 Kidnap Victims in Successful Rescue Operation

In a continued effort to combat terrorism, the Joint Task Force North-West Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) successfully carried out a series of clearance operations, resulting in the rescue of 52 kidnapped individuals in the Isa Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State. Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the spokesperson for Operation Hadarin Daji, announced this achievement in a statement released on Saturday in Gusau. The operation took place on Friday, December 22, 2023.

Captain Ibrahim reported that the troops effectively cleared and eliminated terrorist hideouts in Saruwa, Kubuta, Gundumi villages, and Bunwanga Gundumi forest within the Isa LGA. As a result of their efforts, 52 kidnap victims were rescued, and several terrorists were reportedly neutralized.

Among the rescued individuals are 14 males, 32 females, and six children. They will undergo medical examinations, debriefing, and ultimately be reunited with their families. This successful operation marks another significant step towards ensuring the safety and security of the region.
